Fort Collins, CO

We are proud to induct No Barriers into the Susan Daniels Disability Mentoring Hall of Fame.

No Barriers is a non-profit organization based in Fort Collins, Colorado, that is dedicated to providing transformative experiences that shift mindsets. Since opening its doors in 2003, No Barriers was created on the foundation of valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion. No Barriers is now celebrating its 20th anniversary and has impacted the lives of thousands of people by creating belonging, fostering self-discovery, and elevating individuals and their communities.

Today, No Barriers serves Veterans with disabilities, Caregivers, people with disabilities, and youth, through providing transformative experiences in the form of camps, backcountry hikes, retreats, virtual workshops, programming, and annual events that welcome all abilities, individuals, and teams as they seek to break barriers.

No Barriers Warriors is a program created for the one out of every five Veterans living with a disability. Warriors is designed to help Veterans with disabilities, visible or invisible, redefine purpose and community as they face challenges, past and present, in outdoor environments.

Designed for the 53 million Caregivers in the United States, No Barriers Caregivers provides nature-based respite and self-care as Caregivers are guided through a framework that addresses trauma and grief, enables self rediscovery, finds forgiveness, and builds community.

No Barriers Youth is an experiential program where students learn resilience, how to nurture a positive mindset, elevate their confidence, and build a strong Rope Team.

Because we’re strongest when we’re together, No Barriers Summit is an annual multi-day event that unites all backgrounds and abilities for a shared experience that includes adventure, wellness, entertainment, and inspiration.

“What’s Your Everest?” is an annual community hike designed for people of all abilities. Named after Erik Weihenmayer’s accomplishment of being the first blind man to summit Mt. Everest, this hike breaks barriers and builds community as teams push and pull each other, emotionally and physically, to complete the challenge.

In addition to award-winning programming, the recently developed No Barriers Mountain Campus was built with universal accessible design, making it the only accessible, one-step-away-from-wilderness camp in Northern Colorado. The Campus has made it possible for the organization to provide even more creative learning opportunities that empower communities in need through experiential programming. Regardless of the experience, the No Barriers framework teaches participants step-by-step how to break through challenges and live a driven, purposeful life. Despite the barriers, both big and small that we face, we can learn how to push past them, reconnect with our purpose, and unleash the best in ourselves and others.

Through the organization’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and elevation, No Barriers continues to strive to make an impact in as many lives as possible while remaining true to its fundamental belief that has led thousands to live a No Barriers Life: What’s Within You Is Stronger Than What’s In Your Way.
