Alisa Key

We are proud to induct Alisa Key into the Susan Daniels Disability Mentoring Hall of Fame.
Ms. Key is a member of the Global Intellectual Property Team at Pearson Education and specializes in the areas of trademarks, copyrights and domain names. Prior to her years spent in in-house and private legal practice, she was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable John J. Farley, III, a disabled Vietnam Veteran serving on the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. She also has had an extensive tenure with the Association of Corporate Counsel Intellectual Property Network, mostly recently serving as Chair of the Intellectual Property Network.
Apart from her legal focus, Ms. Key leads the Pearson Legal Department’s Disability Mentoring program and has been an active mentor and mentee throughout her life. Pearson’s Disability Mentoring program has various partners, including the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) and Elyn Saks and the Gould School of Law of the University of Southern California, and strives to ensure that students with disabilities are being sufficiently prepared to excel in the workplace, focusing on their self-confidence and expanding their self-expectations. Alisa is particularly proud of her NFB mentee who, after much self-reflection, decided he wanted to also be a lawyer. He is now in his second year of law school.
Volunteerism is important to Alisa. In particular, she believes in the power and value of mentoring and feels everyone should have a champion.
